The organization is led by a man that lives in the United States, and it is my belief he uses the Nka Foundation's name to enrich his pocket. Throughout the months leading up to my departure to Ghana, I was conversing with this man regularly through email. I assumed I would meet him, and work with him in Ghana, only to learn he was not in Ghana, or a Ghanaian.
Upon arriving to participate in an art+architecture volunteer project in a small town in Ghana, I learned of the pervasive, and seemingly deliberate, lack of transparency in the communication within this small organization. I also learned of some money laundering, misleading visitors, and misinforming volunteers of project costs.
